The Center for American Indian Health Research, Hudson College of Public Health, University of Oklahoma Health Science Center, is looking to hire a Tribal Liaison to work on a research study focused on research projects involving Native American people. The person who will be hired for this position will recruit study subjects, obtain participant consent, conduct participant study interview, preform study procedures, enter information collected from participants into the study data entry program, and performs public relations for the project with the Native American tribes and communities.

Duties:

  • Recruiting Assistance: Recruits study subjects
  • Project Promotion: Promotes projects with tribal and community leaders
  • Scheduling: Schedules appointments and interview patients
  • Information Distribution: Provides information to project staff regarding the Native American traditions and lifestyles
  • Other Duties: Transports participants as necessary. Enters information collected from the participants into the study data entry program. Performs basic physical exam procedures, including blood pressure, height, weight, arm circumference, waist circumference, and hip circumference
  • As Needed: Performs related duties as assigned to successfully fulfill the function of the position
 

Job Requirements

Education:  High School Diploma or GED
 
Experience:  6 months experience in a hospital, clinical setting, public relations, or closely related field
 
Certifications/ Licenses:  Valid Oklahoma Driver’s license
 
Skills:
  • Communication with a multicultural population

Working Conditions:

  • Physical: Sit for prolonged periods. Communicate effectively. Stand, walk, and talk.
  • Environmental: Travel within Oklahoma.
