Summary

The Staff Scientist will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary research team and with external collaborators aimed at understanding the structure, function, and computations of neocortical microcircuits.

Job Duties

  • Plan, direct and conduct mouse experiments performed in the lab.  Will plan their own experiments but will also lead planning for all mouse experiments performed in the lab.
  • Evaluate and analyze data.
  • Incorporate new optical and electrical neurophysiology approaches to collecting large scale datasets suitable for inception loop functional characterization and interrogation for understanding role of functional cell types within microcircuit context across cortical areas.
  • Lead efforts to incorporate classical forced-choice and ethologically relevant behavioral measures into inception loop paradigm.
  • Train new lab members and supervise their activities as they pertain to these experiments.
  • Conduct literature searches and contribute to writing new grant proposals and manuscripts and creating figures required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctoral Degree. Experience may not be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Three years of post doctoral research experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with in vivo 2P imaging
