Summary
The laboratory technician will perform laboratory work in support of pathology & immunology activities under the supervision of faculty.

Job Duties
- Fulfills research duties while supporting the work of technicians and scientists in a laboratory
- Learns standard operating procedures for analyzing and storing specimens.
- Learns how to use laboratory equipment and software appropriate for assigned tasks.
- Prepares specimens for testing in laboratory departments through plating, aliquoting, distributing and sorting.
- Completes meaningful independent projects in assigned area of laboratory.
- Works under direct supervision.
- Completes all the paperwork, technical, and non-technical procedures required to process and submit specimens
- Supports the lab by performing data entry, loading instruments, performing maintenance on all types of equipment, gathering supplies for testing.
- Performs a variety of administrative duties.
- Contributes to a cohesive team environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- One year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor degree and STEM coursework and lab experience.
- Strong interest and enthusiasm for scientific inquiry and biology specifically.
- Familiarity with computational methods for data analysis.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; able to influence across all levels of the organization.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Fluent in English.
