Rider University invites applications for an Assistant Director, Student Success Programs. Reporting to the Director, Student Navigation Office, this individual will organize and oversee the development and delivery of a variety of academic support programs provided to Rider University students, with a particular focus on students who are academically at risk. The successful candidate will: develop and maintain working relationships with campus partners and work with success coaches, faculty and administrators; coordinate and facilitate initiatives that promote and enhance student success; lead in the design, development and execution of the Milestone Scholars Program which includes a summer bridge program, student workshops, freshman seminars, and events; and will participate in the development and outcomes assessment of program and student learning goals for all success coaching programs.

Position Requirements

  • Master’s degree in developmental education, student development, counseling or related field
  • 3-5 years’ experience advising or counseling under prepared college students and facilitating student success seminars
  • Demonstrated program management skills, including strong attention to details, ability to work independently, and ability to establish a schedule and budget and work within the same
  • Strong interpersonal, student advocacy, and written communication skills
  • Experience supervising students and student staff
  • Ability to assess student needs and make appropriate referrals
  • Experience designing and conducting workshops, seminars and/or training sessions
  • Experience working with a diverse population and in a fast-paced environment

Position Preferred Qualifications/Experience

  • Experience supervising professional staff
  • Background in student development theory and knowledge of student support programs
