The Department of World Languages and Cultures seeks and adjunct faculty member to teach Spanish 103 (Spanish Linguistics) in the Spring 2023 term.

Tuesdays & Thursdays, 8:00-9:35 am

This course will be taught in person, on campus.

This course familiarizes students with the scientific study of the Romance languages, focusing on Spanish alongside French and Italian. Areas covered include phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, sociolinguistics, bilingualism and the history of the Romance languages from their roots in Vulgar Latin to their modern dialectal variations. This course will be taught in English.

Qualifications:

PhD in Spanish linguistics or closely related field (ABD considered).

Demonstrated teaching effectiveness and a strong commitment to teaching undergraduate learners.
