Operations Project Manager needed. Scope of work on the DOE grant project requires an Operations Project Manager to coordinate and oversee oilfield and geothermal activities.requires experience to run the work detail to meet the expectations of the Department of Energy, This position requires experience to run high profile projects with many stakeholders, requires familiarity with oil field equipment, experience working on a drilling rig, experience with high pressure and high temperature tools and equipment, requires knowledge of petroleum related fluids and chemicals, requires familiarity of oil field logistics and supply chain. The creation of this position on the DOE projects was approved by OU VPRP.

Responsibilities include and are not limited to the following:

  • Managing wells operation and working with operating companies 
  • Calibrating and fabricating equipment 
  • Supervising laboratory experiments and students work 
  • Overview of safety operations 
  • Coordinating activities between university and stakeholders 
  • Field surveys 
  • Budgeting and billing 
  • Security and building maintenance 
  • Travel is required
 

Job Requirements

Required Education:  Bachelor's degree, AND: 

  • 60 months experience managing;leading multiple projects.

Equivalency Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 108 months of related experience.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of trends and developments in process innovation and project management     
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Ability to manage and lead projects
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Ability to supervise

Certifications:

  • None

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Sit for prolonged periods.

Departmental Preferences:

  • Minimum 10 years experience working on similar laboratory environment 
  • Associate degree with less than ten years experience
  • 10 years of oilfield knowledge and experience 

Supervision: Will supervise 2-5 students and 1-2 post docs
