Summary

Part-time Student Helper positions are available in Dr. Wu's lab located at Children’s Nutrition Research Center, Baylor College of Medicine. This position will provide critical support for the research focusing on the brain control of metabolic and neurological disorders that are based upon genetic mouse models. The lab is currently on the path to publish a series of manuscripts currently funded by NIH and USDA. You will have the great opportunity to contribute to these exciting projects.

Job Duties

  • Maintains mouse colony, including breeding, genotyping, database management, keeping records in compliance with IACUC regulations.
  • Assists with histology: tissue dissection, cryosectioning, immunostaining.
  • Maintains labs and keeps work surfaces clean and orderly; maintains glassware by cleaning, washing, sterilizing, and labeling; prepares lab stock solutions and ensures lab safety; assists with the ordering and inventory of lab supplies. 
  • Receives necessary training from PI for skills as required by these duties listed above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a High School or College Student (undergraduate or graduate).
  • No experience required.
