The Office of Academic Affairs at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine invites applications for the position of the Research Analyst.  Reporting to and assisting the Office of Academic Affairs, the Research Analyst will be responsible for managing the collection, storage, reporting, and dissemination of institutional assessment data in accordance with university guidelines to support internal and external reporting needs.

Duties:

  • Overseeing the administration, collection, and analysis of assessment and evaluation data and assists with preparation of reports of the findings for various university audiences.
  • Collecting, integrating, and analyzing quantitative and qualitative assessment data from multiple data systems, academic programs, and events for use in reporting, including identifying errors or inconsistencies in data.
  • Supports the preparation, editing and proofreading of university’s assessment-related reports prior to distribution to the university community.
  • Creating dashboards, infographics, and other data visualizations for surveys and other assessment research findings for key stakeholders.
  • Researching and implementing ways to optimize college assessment reporting to promote efficiencies and assisting with the completion of standard and ad-hoc requests, projects, and analyses.
  • Building and maintaining large assessment data sets for use in reporting.
  • Creating online surveys and assisting academic departments and institutional committees in analyzing and interpreting data in support of key initiatives.
  • Assisting in preparation of accreditation and state assessment documentation.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of training activities.
  • Supporting research and scholarship on assessment of student learning.
  • Performing other job-related duties as assigned by the Director.
 

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor's Degree

 

Experience: 48 months of program development, program management or related experience

 

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's Degree for a total of 96 months of related experience.

 

Skills:

  • Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and statistical analysis tools.
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Able to read and interpret policy as well as State and Federal regulations.
  • Able to effectively evaluate projects, programs and produce comprehensive reports.
  • Able to supervise staff and communicate directions and expectations effectively.
  • Strong initiative to solve problems.
  • Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives.

Certifications: Valid Driver's License

Working Conditions:  

  • Physical: Ability to engage in repetitive motions.
  • Environmental: Standard Office Environment. Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods. May be required to travel. May require contact with other departments and university officials.

Department Preferences:

  • Master's degree (or higher) from a regionally accredited college or university in Education, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Two years’ experience in Assessment, Institutional Research, or Institutional Effectiveness.
  • Proficiency with statistics and analysis software (e.g., SPSS and/or SAS).
  • Knowledge of survey research/design and experience with survey research, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and reporting.
  • Advanced experience with MS Office products, specifically Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of data extraction techniques and experience in working with large data sets.
  • Experience using assessment management software and Qualtrics survey software.
  • Demonstrated experience with report building/data visualization software (i.e., Power BI).
  • Experience overseeing administration of university-wide homegrown or nationally normed surveys (e.g., NSSE, SSI).
  • Demonstrated experience with survey design, statistical procedures, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and reporting.
  • Proficiency accessing information/data stored in large data systems and use of computer applications, including databases, business intelligence, statistical, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including demonstrated experience tailoring quantitative research results for a variety of audiences.
  • Excellent analytical skills sufficient to analyze and interpret written material and quantitative data, and to draw conclusions and make recommendations.
  • Ability to organize and oversee deployment of university-wide surveys.
  • Strong planning, time-management, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to complete a variety of assignments with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy, and to maintain accurate and detailed records.
