Summary

The St-Pierre Lab (www.stpierrelab.com; Twitter: @StPierreLab) develops fluorescent biosensors and light-gated channels to image and control neural activity, respectively. For example, see our recent publication in Cell for an exciting new voltage indicator for recording electrical dynamics in awake behaving mice (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.cell.2022.07.013). With our lab growing to 14 individuals, we are looking for a motivated, organized, and resourceful lab manager. The mission of the lab manager will be to ensure the smooth operation of the lab. A fraction of the lab manager's time may be to assist on research projects. Will be able to learn new skills and be part of an enjoyable workplace.

Job Duties

  • Order reagents and capital equipment
  • Maintain equipment and coordinate repairs
  • Reconcile purchases from credit cards and travel expenses
  • Coordinate Material Transfer Agreements and disseminate constructs to other labs
  • Manage our Recombinant DNA and Animal Protocols
  • Prepare aliquots of commonly used reagents
  • Train new lab members
  • Assist selected research projects

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • Five years of relevant experience, with prior supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree and three years' experience will also be considered
  • At least one year of lab management experience
