Job Description

Summary

Dr. Jung is seeking a technician to carry out routine laboratory procedures as directed. These will include biochemical sample preparations for Mass Spectrometry based Proteomics. The technician would also include Mass Spectrometry operation, maintenance and data collection.

Job Duties

  • Performs routine biochemical and cell biological assays using standard operating procedures.
  • Works on sample preparation for Mass Spectrometry based -Omics research.
  • Conducts enzymatic digestion of proteins and peptide separation.
  • Works on daily operation and maintenance of Mass Spectrometry instruments.
  • Performs Mass Spectrometry data collection and processes using computer software. 
  • Works on preparation of routine laboratory chemical supplies, and buffers.
  • Reports and documents results of experiments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Two years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biological sciences and experience in mass spectrometry or column chromatography (HPLC).
  • One year experience in lab work and must have basic laboratory skill.
