Summary

Department of Molecular Virology and Microbiology is seeking a candidate for a part time position to help in the lab. The  technician be team-motivated and pay close attention to detail. The lab technician will be responsible for large batch production of petri dishes, sterile tissue culture media, buffers, and reagents for the Department of Molecular Virology and Microbiology.

Job Duties

  • Conducts large batch production of petri dishes, sterile tissue culture media, buffers, and reagents.
  • Works on stocking reagents, chemicals, and glassware used for laboratory analysis.
  • Prepares and ensures these solutions are sterile and available as needed. 
  • Provides departmental safety training to new employees for use of departmental autoclaves. 
  • Demonstrates a relevant scientific background that includes a marked proficiency in chemical preparations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field.
