Reporting to the Director of Housing, the Housing Systems Program Coordinator is responsible for professional oversite and development of a team of full-time staff members associated with the elements of Housing technical systems. Position will plan, program, budget, implement, manage and oversee all aspects of housing technical systems.  

The position will be responsible for the following, which is not an exhaustive list:

Leadership and Supervision

  • Supervise Housing Systems team of Systems Specialists.
  • Responsible for overall management and accessibility of all Housing and Residence Life technology services and database systems, including the housing management system (StarRez Web), student contract and applications process systems (StarRez Portal X), and integrations with other campus systems (Banner, Blackboard, etc.).
  • Develop, lead, and implement assessment initiatives for Housing and Residential Life. Analyze results to evaluate program and process effectiveness and disseminate findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Serve as business analyst for the department, creating reports and data presentations to assist Housing and Residence Life, Food Services and the Division of Student Affairs, as requested.
  • Draft summaries and proposals for external audiences (e.g., administrators).
  • Assist the Director with planning and evaluating housing application process and timelines, keep housing timeline and plans up to date.
  • Coordinate with Senior Student Services Specialist – Housing Assignments/Occupancy and Senior Student Services Specialist - Welcome Center/Marketing to ensure application, marketing, and assignments are well coordinated and operating in tandem.
  • Serve on departmental committees as needed.

Planning and Projects 

  • Represent Housing to campus partners in joint projects as assigned by the Director (e.g., Enrollment Management, New Student Programs).
  • Complete technical and logistical projects for the Director.
  • Support department and Housing Systems team through innovative uses of housing data, including writing custom SQL database queries.
  • Perform benchmarking research against peer housing departments to ensure Housing and Residence Life business processes are aligned with industry standards.

Housing Logistics 

  • Primary operational manager for campus Move-In Team (purchasing, logistics, communications, coordination with move-in service provider, etc.) Support strategic management of the Director.
  • Primary Housing liaison with Residence Life and Housing Operations for planning and streamlining mass movements of residents, including spring move-out in May and transitions into and out of the summer housing period, especially in relation to interdepartmental flow of information, internal communications, and timelines.
  • Work with Senior Student Services Specialist – Housing Assignments/Occupancy to evaluate campus housing needs/limitations for summer and draft annual proposal of appropriate contract offerings and rates.
  • Liaison for academic summer programs to coordinate needs, contracts, billing, transitions, etc. (e.g., Start Sooner, Summer Bridge, Summer Advantage Scholars, etc.)
 

Job Requirements

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree, AND: 

  • 36 months in student programming, student services or closely related experience

Equivalency/Substitution:  Will accept 48 months related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's Degree for a total of 84 months experience

  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Composition and proofreading skills
  • Computer skills, including proficiency in navigating and maintaining databases
  • Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information
  • highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to communicate well and build rapport with students, faculty, and staff
  • Ability to read and intepret policy as well as state and federal regulations

Department Preferences:

  • Masters Degree
  • Previous professional data analysis work
  • Previous supervisory experience of full-time or student team members

Supervision: Will supervise full-time staff members and will report to the Director of Housing.
