Required Education: Bachelor's degree, AND: 

• 24 months of professional building management/facilities experience

Equivalency/Substitution:  Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 72 months of related experience.

Skills:

• Able to work independently w/minimal instruction
• Must be able to operate hand tools
• Read and understand basic written materials
• Effective oral and written communication
• Must have strong initiative to solve problems, and exercise some discretion, ingenuity, and independent judgement
• Must be able to work independently and with interdepartmental teams and initiatives
• Basic computer skills using Excel, Word, and other Outlook office products
• Must be highly organized and able to handle multiple projects
• Must be able to complete work within deadlines
• Must use established occupational health and safety practices

Certifications:

• Must pass Federal background check

Advertised Physical Requirements:

• Climbing ladders, working at heights
• Lifting and carrying loads up to 100 lbs
• Prolonged standing and walking
• Climbing stairs, including carrying while climbing
• Excessive stooping and bending
• Manual dexterity
• Must be able to be on call for building emergencies

Departmental Preferences:

• Prior experience in the National Weather Center building
• Prior experience setting up for events
• Understanding of x-ray interpretation for use of x-ray machine
