The Department of Facilities Management is hiring an Energy and Sustainability Program Specialist to join our Energy Management and Sustainability team! This position will be responsible for maintaining data, implementing reporting techniques, and developing education and programs within energy management and sustainability services.  We proudly serve the University by supporting, preserving, and improving the campus environment.

Essential Duties: 

This position is responsible for maintaining data, implementing reporting techniques, and developing education and programs within energy management and sustainability services.   

  • Responsible for managing utility data. Gathers, analyzes, and reports on utility data.  Identifies trends to generate insights and suggest management strategies.  Develops policies and procedures for the collection and analysis of data.
  • Identifies and researches new approaches for utility efficiencies and cost savings.   
  • Facilitates the review of requests for information and helps ensure the most effective development of new reporting tools and reports. 
  • Implements reporting practices.  Develops specific functions to include report preparation, production, and analysis.  Works with functional and technical areas to analyze processes, gather reporting requirements, and present reporting deliverables. 
  • Coordinate and manage activities related to sustainability project(s).  Implements projects using basic planning techniques and departmental guidance. 
  • Develops programs and procedures for disseminating education on campus sustainability behaviors. 
  • Generates and oversees content for digital platforms including website and social media. 
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

Job Requirements

Required Education: Bachelor's degree AND

  • 24 months experience in computing programming and analysis or in related field.

Equivalency Substitution: Will accept 48 months related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 72 months experience.

Skills:

  • Ability to gather and analyze facts, draw conclusions, define problems and suggest solutions. 
  • Highly organized.  Able to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.  Comfort working with both students and faculty. 
  • Ability to make independent decisions and judgment when following broad instructions.
  • Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, decision making, interpersonal, communication, and project management skills.
  • Computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Office 365.
  • Ability to analyze large data sets. Basic data analysis and general understanding of database concepts.  

Certifications: Valid Oklahoma Driver's License in order to drive Univiserity vehicles or ability to obtain within 30 days from hire date.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to engage in repetitive motions.  
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Ability to sit for short or extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry 30 pounds.
  • Environment: Standard office work environment.
