Smart Buildings Systems (SBS) Manager
Job Description
Salary: Grade 8 (£43,414 - £51,805 p.a. depending upon experience)
This role will be based on the university campus.
Are you an engineering professional, with an understanding of Building Energy Management Systems and always keen to make a positive contribution? Are you passionate about Smart Buildings and exploiting Internet of Things (IoT) applications? Are you keen to deliver Net Zero Carbon solutions?
This role has been created to manage and develop the University’s extensive TREND BMS network, but critically to also support the strategic planning and direction which will transform how the University manages its buildings through the exploitation of advances in smart technology.
The University has a desire to develop a smart system solution where software-based analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) based programming can be applied to extract value from data provided by the numerous intelligent but autonomous systems existing at the University.
A significant element of this will be met through the development and integration of the University’s extensive Trend Building Energy Management System (BEMS) and other existing autonomous systems onto a single smart platform, A key aim and a primary objective of this role is to manage, develop and detail the standards and procedures required to ensure that the upgrade from TREND 963 to IQ Vision delivers a system capable of supporting the University’s Smart aspirations, now and for the future.
