Summary

The Henry J.N. Taub Department of Emergency Medicine (EM) at Baylor College of Medicine is recruiting for a Senior Coordinator, Business Operations to join the administrative team. This individual will provide support to the department by coordinating financial and business processes. EM serves the community by providing high-quality, compassionate emergency care to a diverse patient population. In addition, educating and mentoring the next generation of leaders in emergency medicine is a top priority of the department. We are dedicated to fostering a collaborative research environment that is dedicated to discovery and innovation.

 

This position offers the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement.

Job Duties

• Coordinates the day-to-day business and financial processes for the department.
• Works with physician and administrative leaders to drive major department improvement projects such as onboarding process enhancement, website content management for physician and practice visibility, performance scorecard improvement etc. This will include create a detailed process flow map and checklist for all staff and faculty onboarding. 
• Optimizes use of Microsoft platforms to build out rules to centralize departmental information.
• Updates department’s clinical webpages to expand general information about the department. 
• Creates uniform templates for financial reporting and clinical hours tracking.
• Monitors financial activity by compiling, reviewing, and reconciling financial accounts.
• Processes, submits and tracks invoices.
• Helps process reimbursements when needed.
• Reviews expenditures from fund sources to verify accuracy, need, and compliance.
• Assists with policy and guideline development for staff and faculty to operate by at the departmental level. 
• Coordinates the offices’ space for the EM faculty and staff.
• May coordinate department meetings, events, retreats, and other functions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience with process improvement.
  • Strong Proficiency in Excel.
