Provide individual and group counseling; outreach/consultation services for Ball State University students; conduct supervision, training and perform administrative duties as assigned; serve on unit and university committees as appointed and assigned.

The Ball State University Counseling Center is looking for an experienced psychologist to join our growing and innovative team. The ideal candidate will be a licensed psychologist (licensure in Indiana a plus) and at least one year of experience working in a university counseling center or with young adults. Experience working with anxiety disorders, psychological testing, student athletes, or LGBTQIA+ community is highly desirable. Interested parties should apply.

Job Function:

Minimum Education:

A.B.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from both a program and internship that are A.P.A.-accredited; Ph.D., Psy.D., Ed.D. or similar degree must be completed 6 months of employment.

Preferred Education:

Completed Ph.D., Psy.D. or Ed.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from a program and internship that is A.P.A. accredited.

Minimum Experience:

Completion of A.P.A.-accredited internship.

Preferred Experience:

One year of experience providing therapy to college students or young adult population. Experience working with athletes, anxiety disorders, testing/assessment, trauma, or substance use disorders is highly desirable.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling services to students.
  • Provide outreach/consultation services as assigned.
  • Provide supervision and instruction to students in accredited training programs.
  • Participate with other professional staff in after-hours on call rotation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Provide university and community service.
