Summary
The Welch Lab at The University of Michigan is seeking a Bioinformatician-Computational Biologist Intermediate to analyze big datasets, primarily using Welch lab tools, in partnership with the programmer director. This includes genetic, epigenomic, transcriptome, single-cell, and population data. The Bioinformatician will also disseminate findings by writing manuscripts for peer reviewed publication and presenting findings at national professional meetings. Write for proposal applications and perform critical review of scientific literature. Train Ph.D., masters and undergraduate students, as well as postdoctoral fellows in data analysis techniques. Mentor students in critical thinking for research project design and data analysis as well as design studies and plan for future research projects.

Required Qualifications*
Bachelor degree in a recognized field of science or learning which is directly related to the duties of the position.
Demonstrated excellence in publications and presentations, and expert coding skills in R and Python.
Knowledge of molecular biology and genomics.
Experience in at least two domains in characteristic of the bioinformatics, including at least one biological/biomedical/clinical science/and one quantitative/informatics/computing science, with aptitude for others.
Desired Qualifications*
Master's degree in Ph.D or Bioinformatics or related field.
