We are seeking a Academic Program Coordinator who will be assisting with providing support for premedical students at the Bloomberg School of Public Health (BSPH) by managing various administrative tasks and projects.



Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Participate in events (online and onsite) recruiting prospective students for all departments in the BSPH.
Answer prospective student questions.
Work with Hopkins-affiliated and external stakeholders to manage and create new student services, including clinical and non-clinical volunteer and/or paid opportunities for BSPH students and alumni to increase community service opportunities.
In consultation with faculty, keep track of courses particularly relevant to BSPH premedical students and attractive to prospective students.
Engage with BSPH and the greater JHU community.
Individual premedical advising
Providing continued support for alumni during the medical school application process.
Create and maintain a list of, programs to which our students have been accepted and keep and other statistics related to applications and admissions.
Create and maintain a detailed database of alumni with careers in medicine and work to enhance their connection to current BSPH premedical students.
Assist in enhancing BSPH efforts in providing optimal learning experience and the most effective advising for students from groups underrepresented in medicine.
Assist with specific challenges faced by international students seeking admission to medical school in the United States.
Handle event logistics for invited speakers.


Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or graduation equivalent.
Three years administrative/academic related experience.
Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.


Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Master's Degree a plus.
