Job Description
The Laboratory for Bionic Integration is seeking a postdoctoral fellow with interest in exploring the mechanisms of multisensory integration and the proprioceptive sense of kinesthesia. The lab works at the dynamic and exciting intersection of advanced sensory-motor bionics, experimental neurophysiology, cognitive and perceptual integration, and the molecular basis of proprioception. This position is supported by a funded research project to study peripheral muscle sensory systems using electrophysiological, genetic, and histological approaches to evaluate the functional relationships between muscular contraction and active movement sensing.
A PhD in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computational Neuroscience, or a related field is required. The ideal candidate will have significant interest or experience in interdisciplinary research in systems-level neurophysiology, animal electrophysiological studies, neural data analysis in both animals and humans, and applied clinical-translational science. The candidate will join a vibrant Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, and Clinical Neurology environment in a rapidly-growing research institute within a leading US hospital. The candidate will have opportunities to grow and explore emerging interests while focusing on transitioning to career independence.
