Founded in 1863, Saint Mary's is a residential campus nestled 20 miles east of San Francisco in the picturesque Moraga Valley. Position Description
The Collegiate Seminar Program seeks an adjunct faculty member to teach in Spring 2023:
SEM 144-1, Multicultural Thought: MWF 11:45 AM - 12:50 PM
SEM 144-2 Multicultural Thought: MWF 9:15 AM - 10:20 AM
These courses will be taught in person.
This elective seminar pursues the study of a broad range of authors, mainly from the Americas but also including several from non-European traditions.
In addition to teaching, instructors in the Collegiate Seminar Program are expected to hold regular office hours (a minimum of three hours a week) in order to provide students with support outside of the classroom. Instructors are also expected to participate in faculty development including workshops, class observations, and syllabus collaboration. Course design must follow the program's common syllabus, meeting the requirements described.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
Currently-trained seminar leader (at least 2 years of experience teaching in the Collegiate Seminar program), a Ph.D. or MFA, and experience teaching in Ethnic Studies or Justice, Community and Leadership, or other subject-appropriate disciplines."
