Rider University invites applications for a full-time (non-tenure track) Athletic Leadership Lecturer position to begin on September 1, 2023. This full-time position will also serve as the director of the Master of Arts in Athletic Leadership Program in the Graduate Education, Leadership, and Counseling department.

The Rider University community is composed of faculty, staff, and students from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. The student body is composed of over 4000 students at the undergraduate and graduate level; these students come to Rider University from all over the world. Rider University is located in the state of New Jersey, within close proximity to the New York, Trenton, and Philadelphia metropolitan areas. Rider University is also located within close proximity to many state parks, shore communities, and mountain regions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for 18 teaching hours per academic year. In addition to teaching, the candidate will lead program development and implementation as Program Director and will advise graduate students in the Master of Arts in Athletic Leadership program. It is expected that the candidate supports the College of Education mission of “fostering knowledgeable, committed, and reflective professionals”. Position Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of teaching experience
  • Minimum of MA/MS degree in athletic leadership or a related field
  • Minimum five years of full-time employment experience in athletic leadership (high school, conference office, college/university, or professional level).
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working in an environment devoted to collaboration, collegiality, scholarly inquiry and student learning.

Position Preferred Qualifications/Experience

  • Doctorate strongly preferred
  • College/university teaching experience strongly preferred
  • Experience teaching online courses preferred
  • Experience utilizing Canvas preferred
