Position Description

The Department of Field Placement / College of Education and Human Services at Rider University seeks an adjunct instructor of Student Teaching Field Supervision and Seminar for the Spring 2023 beginning 1/3/2023. This position is to teach EDU 465 and CURR 770. These courses include visiting and observing/evaluating student teachers in the field during their full-time student teaching semester. They may also include teaching the small group seminar course with the student teachers. Travel to field sites and participation in campus events is required.

Position Requirements

  • Instructional Certification in one or more of the following areas:
    • Elementary Education
    • Special Education
    • Social Studies
    • French
    • Spanish
    • Business
    • ESL
    • Music, Theater and/or Dance
  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring adult learners
  • Demonstrated experience in providing feedback to novice teachers
  • Demonstrated experience in P-12 Education
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
  • Reliable transportation (visiting field sites is required)
  • Participation in certain campus events related to student teaching

Position Preferred Qualifications/Experience

  • Supervisory Certification (supervisor/principal/superintendent)
  • Master’s degree in Educational Leadership or Instructional Area
