Job Description

Reporting to, and under the general direction and support of the EVP, COO Hospital President, the Vice President, Chief
Quality Officer (CQO) is responsible for providing direction and oversight of the areas of Patient Safety, Accreditation,
Quality, and Infection Prevention & Control for the Cancer Center.
The CQO provides leadership for quality and patient safety improvement at all facilities within the Cancer Center
through the setting of priorities, allocation of resources, oversight of policies and procedures, short and long-term
strategic plan(s) determination, and evaluation of progress made towards the achievement of goals and objectives.
These efforts require processes that emphasize teamwork, measurement and accountability.
It is the desire of the Organization to be a leader in patient safety and quality with the expectation that this will be
reflected in top tier ranking in the Vizient comparative database, top 10 ranking in U.S. News and World Reports and 5-
star rating on CMS Hospital Compare. The CQO will also closely collaborate and assist the Vice President, Chief Medical
Officer (CMO) on clinical performance improvement activities. Other applicable duties as assigned.
