Position Description

The Associate Director for Scholarship Stewardship is responsible for the stewarding and administration of individual and corporate and foundation scholarship donors to the University. A strong Associate Director for Scholarship Stewardship will strengthen Rider fundraising and donor stewardship by ensuring that accurate and appropriate scholarship agreements are created and those scholarship donors are stewarded appropriately. They will encourage, support, and seek more loyal giving from alumni and friends of Rider University by building positive relationships through direct contact with existing scholarship donors, encouraging new donors, and addressing any related matters in a professional and responsive manner. As a primary relationship manager with these donors, the Associate Director will not only maintain relationships associated with 300+ endowments but will have fundraising responsibilities associated with growing existing endowed scholarships and establishing new ones.

Position Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required.  Demonstrated internal/eternal customer skills, communication, analytical, and time management skills.   Demonstrated ability to work independently while functioning as part of the University’s Advancement Team.  Demonstrated ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and make independent decisions.  Demonstrated understanding of information management with proficiency in manipulating, retrieving, and analyzing data from relational databases and spreadsheets. Knowledge of and experience with Raiser’s Edge and Banner is preferred. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel). Strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills. Proficient writing skills, attention to detail, and record-keeping are required.  Demonstrated understanding of confidentiality and ethics.  Flexibility and ability to attend events and meetings in the evening and on weekends. is required
