Summary

Michigan Medicine Laboratories (MLabs) IT Analyst oversees and manages the information technology needs of MLabs reference laboratory and outreach division and is responsible for providing technical services support to MLabs clients and internal staff as well as support of division hardware and software needs. The MLabs IT Analyst works with minimal guidance to troubleshoot existing electronic order and result reporting and other IT applications for root cause analysis, problem resolution and service recovery. This individual works collaboratively with the Pathology Informatics (PI) and Health Information Technology & Services (HITS) teams to facilitate process improvements and to ensure that information technology functionality related to MLabs reference laboratory and outreach services works as expected and meets the needs of MLabs clients and staff. The individual in this role must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and prioritize their work with minimal supervision.

Under general supervision, this individual formulates and defines systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements. With this knowledge, develops or modifies moderately complex information systems. Includes analysis of business and user needs, documenting requirements, and revising existing system logic difficulties as necessary.

Responsibilities*

Accept calls from and assist MLabs clients in resolving issues affecting their MLabs systems and equipment and/or delivery of test results via various reporting mechanisms (e.g., fax, MiShare, web portal).
Troubleshoot workstation, label printer hardware, and network issues related to the operation of MLabsCONNECT (Clinisys) and/or other web portal applications in the client facility.
Oversee process for new user and account change requests for MLabsCONNECT electronic order and result reporting web-based portal. Manage digital forms, ensuring data integrity and customer response. Assist in troubleshooting issues and errors.
Provide MLabs staff hardware support, including research, testing, and procurement of hardware and associated consumable supplies for MLabs staff equipment.
Provide MLabs staff software support. Implement Pathology related software for Michigan Medicine core image builds within MLabs Division. Research, test, and assist with procurement of new software. Configure, install, update, and maintain MLabs equipment and associated software. Understand enterprise managed image support and configurations. Troubleshoot and remediate issues within Michigan Medicine enterprise devices. Administer MLabs email distribution groups and resource accounts. Troubleshoot and resolve issues.
Maintain equipment and IT configuration inventories, technical, and procedure documentation for MLabs IT operations and support roles. Maintain paper/electronic documentation required by Department of Pathology and Michigan Medicine accrediting agencies as related to primary responsibilities. Develop and maintain IT knowledge and procedures.
Participate in Salesforce administration and development. Under the direction of the Salesforce CRM Administrator, assist in development and improvement of Salesforce automations data management.
Create, manage, and distribute digital forms and surveys using available software (e.g., Qualtrics, Adobe, SignNow). Maintain data integrity and ensure automations are flowing as expected. Develop and provide MLabs staff with surveys/forms and data as needed.
Required Qualifications*

In order to be considered for this position the applicant must have met or will have met all the required qualifications prior to the start date of employment.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, laboratory science, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2 to 5 years of relevant professional experience in IT support role.
Ability to work flexible hours to meet goals and deadlines.
Ability to plan and use time effectively and productively.
Ability to work independently and prioritize.

This position requires onsite work with an option for working remotely part of each week. This position may require travel to client locations.
