Responsibilities
Saint Mary's College of California is seeking a skilled Student Services Manager to provide support to and intervention for School of Liberal Art (SOLA) and School of Science (SOS) Graduate and Professional Study students. This person will report directly to the SOLA Assistant Dean of Finance and Administration. The Student Services Manager will be responsible for executing a variety of duties and working with a diverse group of internal and external constituents. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, organized, energetic, detail-oriented, demonstrates sound judgment, and possesses excellent written and oral communication skills. The role requires someone capable of managing their workload and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment. The Student Services Manager will work with graduate students to resolve issues related to financial aid, student accounts, program and College orientation, registration, and other academic and non-academic concerns. Address any academic or administrative concerns that faculty or students are unable to resolve, liaising with relevant programs and offices.

Monitor students' academic progress and keep students and advisors updated on relevant timelines, issues and concerns. Regularly review student files through auditing and Colleague to ensure students are meeting all academic and graduation requirements. This position will liaise with the Registrar's office to post degrees and provide regular updates to ensure program directors, advisors and students have access to current information on student academic progress, and track and maintain individual student records in the Google drive.

1. Provide support to and intervention for SOLA and SOS GPS students to resolve issues related to financial aid, student accounts, program and College orientation, registration, and other academic and non-academic concerns. 3. Conduct Orientation for SOLA GPS programs in conjunction with Program Directors. Consult with faculty and Program Directors regarding all commencement related activities and processes for SOLA GPS students.
4. Monitor and maintain student records throughout the SOLA GPS programs. Ensure records are carefully updated as needed or as changes occur.
5. Developing and promoting on and off-campus internships, liaising with SOLA LAB program and Career Services office, etc.). Building career pathways for SOLA & SOS graduate students and facilitating and promoting them across programs.

Experience and Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: REQUIRED: Bachelor's Degree PREFERRED: Master's Degree

Experience: (years required and applicable field of experience): Preference for at least one year of experience interacting with students, faculty and administration in higher education or in a related industry that involves academic and/or administrative processes.

Skills/Abilities: (e.g. computer skills, written & verbal skills, trades, laws, procedures, technical) Supportive, student-centered approach; understanding and appreciation of the unique needs of graduate and professional studies students; demonstrated excellence in using Google suite, Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, and email; significant experience working with databases and admission platforms; ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments and meet demanding deadlines; remain calm under pressure, establish priorities and work in an organized manner with emphasis on detail and accuracy; ability to work independently without close supervision and as a member of a team, seek consultation when necessary; high level of reliability, creativity and commitment to maintain confidentiality; ability to work cooperatively and effectively with all members of a culturally diverse campus community; understanding of academic policy and administrative operations; ability to cultivate and maintain partnerships with diverse individuals, offices and programs; understanding of and commitment to further the College's mission; ability to respond promptly, kindly, and effectively to the flow of traffic, even during high-volume times when there might be multiple clients in a crowded space expecting a multiplicity of types of service.
