Successful candidates will have a Ph.D. in microbiology, immunology, molecular biology, Pharmacy, biology, medical sciences or related field. Prior research experience in antimicrobial, microbiology, or drug discovery, including animal models will be a plus. Strong written, oral communication, and critical thinking skills are required. Candidates at both junior and senior levels are welcome to apply. The Post-Doctoral Research Fellow will work on specific projects which will encompass identification and validation of novel antifungal and antimicrobial targets and characterization of molecular mechanisms of drug resistance. Successful candidates will use and develop techniques for identifying the molecular target of small molecules (antimicrobials, antibiotics, antifungals) and will be responsible for performing animal experiments and testing the efficacy of new antimicrobials and antifungal in animal models. The techniques used may be biochemical-based and microbiological-based approaches, genetics, chemical biology, proteomics or other disciplines. The Post-Doctoral Research Fellow will lead independent and collaborative research projects, in preparation for the future career, to achieve all of our objectives in our overarching program; “Identification and validation of novel antimicrobial targets in multidrug resistant pathogens”.
