Job Description

Summary

The Center for Medical Ethics and Health Policy at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a part-time Student Helper to assist with research focused on the ethical, legal, and social implications (ELSI) of conducting genomics research.

Job Duties

  • Provides general administrative support for the research team by organizing project files, scheduling project activities and meetings.
  • Provides other administrative support as needed by contacting study participants for reminders and scheduling.
  • Assists investigators with report and presentation preparation, such as organizing data and drafting slides.
  • Assists with qualitative data management and analysis.
  • Communicates regularly via email with the study PI to provide updates.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a High School or College Student (undergraduate or graduate).
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in bioethics, health policy, genomics and/or related issues.
  • Team oriented, collaborative mindset with an interest in creating value in any situation with insightful questions and suggestions.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of flexibility in accepting work assignments with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks, understand processes, and resolve issues.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, efficient, and strong organizational skills.
