Job Summary
This position is responsible for the collection and processing of payments for Resident Accounts at Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home. This includes posting all transactions through use of resident account trust fund, balancing cash on hand with daily financial reports, preparing check requests for disbursement, and replenishing cash on hand. This position prepares daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports, quarterly financial statements of resident accounts, and maintains all logs/receipts regarding resident accounts. This position is also responsible for processing billing for pharmacy, labs, and ambulance for Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home. This position also maintains all facility lists facility, processes all other deposits, and provides back up for other department positions.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization with a minimum of two years of accounting and bookkeeping experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, or accounts receivable position.
Strong personal initiative, organizational abilities, flexibility, and the ability to work independently
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Basic understanding of budgeting; accounting strengths.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment and maintain confidentiality.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational, prioritization, analytical and multi-tasking skills.
High degree of accuracy with the ability to research, reconcile and resolve payment issues; handle multiple priorities; and take initiative.
Ability to prepare financial and other records in a systematic, neat, and legible manner.
Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions.
Ability to work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and hostile people at all times within the facility.
Knowledge to seek advice and supervision when required.
Typing speed 45 wpm with accuracy.
Accurate use of a 10-key calculator.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: M-F/ 8am-5pm
Salary: (Min-Mid or list up to the budgeted amount which should not be more than the midpoint)
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
