The Department of Media Arts at Rider University seeks an adjunct instructor of Popular Music Arranging for the Spring beginning January 23, 2023. 

This position is to teach MUS 219 Popular Music Arranging. This course supports the university’s Music Production major. Candidates’ primary expertise should be embedded in contemporary popular styles. 

Position Requirements

The successful candidate will demonstrate experience with both the conceptual and historical nature of popular music alongside practical skills in popular music composition and arranging. Demonstrated direct experience with some of the many styles found in popular music (e.g., pop, hip-hop, EDM, singer-songwriter, rock, etc) is expected.

Position Preferred Qualifications/Experience

Demonstrated proficiency in a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) desired but not required.  Experience in the popular music industry as a scholar and/or practitioner; significant experience with the broad spectrum of popular music; Performance experience in some genre of popular music; Incorporation of inclusive teaching practices that serve a diverse student body.
