College/Department Information
The Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Center is the single largest investment in a cybersecurity facility in the nation to date. The $100 million facility will help to fill the current and growing shortage of cybersecurity talent in the state and nation. The Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Center represents a unique public/private partnership that includes Augusta University, Augusta Technical College, the University System of Georgia's research institutions, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and other state, federal, and private-sector partners working together to meet this workforce demand and to innovate, train, and strengthen defenses.

The state-of-the-art Center is located in the growing cybersecurity corridor in Augusta, Georgia, that is also home to the U.S. Army Cyber Command and Cyber School of Excellence at Fort Gordon. The Center is located on the downtown campus of Augusta University and houses the School of Computer and Cyber Sciences.

Job Summary
The Cyber DevOps Engineer will be responsible to develop, create and test hands-on, scenario based training to be conducted by the Cyber Workforce Academy or performed on the Georgia Cyber Range. This position will be responsible for mapping training objectives to hands-on tasks, developing scenario and virtual environments to accomplish objectives and testing / documenting all training prompts and solutions for scenarios. This position will use various operating systems, appliances, virtualization platforms and techniques to provide both defensive and offensive perspective training for custom builds and a continuously evolving library of hands-on cybersecurity training at the Georgia Cyber Center in order to meet the needs of the State of Georgia.

Responsibilities
The duties include, but not limited to:

Training - This position will work with clients to map training objectives to actionable tasks and produce multiple scenarios for task application. This position will use expertise in various Operating Systems, Security tools and Appliances, and Networking in order to produce hands-on exercises for practicing and validating practical cybersecurity skills. The training scenarios will include documentation that walks students through expected outcomes, parameters, and steps; documentation will also include an instructor guide with a solution(s) and their mapped training objectives. When applicable, this position will work with Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Center Cyber Range personnel to assist with translation of cyber training scenarios into repeatable, scalable, and modular orchestration templates and threat-injection scripts.

Research and Development - This position will be required to research and develop scenarios and topologies that facilitate achieving cybersecurity related training objectives to meet client's defined requirements. The position will continuously research and integrate new and emerging threats, techniques, tools and methodologies to provide the most relevant training environment possible. The position will define requirements, and assist in the validation, testing and deployment of scenarios for clients, working in conjunction with Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Center Cyber Range personnel. Provide direct assistance to clients during large scale exercises should issues with expected results be encountered, and to include escalation of technical issues to Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Center Cyber Range personnel if found to be technical in nature.

Deliver content to State employees - Provide direct content delivery to State of Georgia government employees. Delivery would be conducted onsite and offsite, as needed by requesting state agencies. Content delivery will include a combination of standard, industry oriented curriculum, Cyber Range scenarios, and table top exercises.

Work with Georgia Cyber Center Cyber Range - This position will be expected to provide feature requests, submit issues and file bug reports to Georgia Innovation and Training Center Cyber Range personnel. Additionally, the position will create and maintain training objectives integrated into topologies; this should include significant technical documentation and troubleshooting guides. Update and enhance existing training to incorporate new features and ensure ongoing relevance and compatibility.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and/or specialty degree from an accredited college or University with 7 years of experience in the cybersecurity field and two years of experience in instruction, training, and curriculum development.

At least 1 professional IT related certification

Preferred Qualifications
3 or more professional certifications from any of the following: Juniper, Microsoft, Redhat, Cisco, Brocade, Cloud related (AWS, Azure, or Openstack), SANS, or ISC2.

10 or more years of professional instruction, training, and curriculum development in Cybersecurity or other technical field. Over 8 years' experience with multiple OSes_, and Networking technologies. Experience with GiUGithub, Canvas or Openstack.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of virtual machines and virtualization technologies/infrastructures
An advanced understanding of Windows and Linux OSes_, and networking technologies

SKILLS
Proficiency with topology orchestration for virtual environments in training or production scenarios
Proficiency in anisible, saltstack, or another automations tool

ABILITIES
Ability to maintain confidentiality

Pay Grade: 24
Salary: Minimum $74,604/annually - Midpoint $100,715/annually
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
