The Department of Art and Design at Augusta University seeks outstanding applicants for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor with a specialization in the expanded realm of Sculpture and 3-D Art Practice. Demonstration of scholarly and/or artistic engagement can include art making from a broad perspective such as: traditional sculpture media, digital imaging or video, installation, performance, immersive/interactive media, and community-based art practices. This is a nine-month position to begin in August 2023 with a teaching load of four studio art courses per year. In addition to teaching, tenure track faculty will sustain a robust practice of creative scholarship, participate in departmental-university wide service, and foster both community and professional relationships.

Responsibilities
Teach two studio courses per semester related to foundation level and sculpture. These will include courses within BFA and BA concentration developing skill sets such as sculpture media, three dimensional design, and Installation. Maintain an active role developing/enhancing departmental curricula and programs while demonstrating leadership in student's mentoring and advising. Responsible for creative research scholarship and professional growth having regional and greater reach.
Sucessful candiates provide service to the department, college and university by participating actively, regularly and equitably on committees and serving the departmental needs.
Required Qualifications
Earned MFA or its equivalent in training , ability and experience. With an established record of teaching experience and artistic practice or publication. Successful candiates must have the ability to teach sculpture media, three-dimensional design, and other foundation level studio art course.

This position is academic year based and typically works August through May, depending on dates outlined in offer letter and yearly contract.
The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0.
Salary for academic year is $57,000- $62,000.
