Facilities Services Division provides quality customer service by maintaining a safe, healthy, and aesthetically pleasing environment in which students, faculty, and staff can function and accomplish their educational objectives and by supporting a patient care culture that continuously improves. Facilities Services' responsibilities include Interior and Exterior Facilities Support, Construction, Space Management, and Environmental Services.

Job Summary
This is an entry-level position in the repair, installation and preventative maintenance of heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment. This position is assigned to the General Maintenance Shop which primarily performs preventative maintenance. The regular working hours for this position are 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday and must work occasional mandatory overtime.

Responsibilities
The job duties include, but are not limited to:

GENERAL DUTIES: Repairs and maintains components of air conditioning, refrigeration, heating and ventilating systems in offices, classrooms, dormitories and laboratories.

TROUBLESHOOTING: Assist with troubleshooting and repair of HVAC equipment. Respond to and complete regular work orders.

OTHER DUTIES: Perform all other related duties/tasks as required by supervision.

Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent GED from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization. One year experience in applicable maintenance-related trade. Valid driver's license and qualified to operate Augusta University vehicles.

Preferred Qualifications
Apprenticeship training
Trade or vocational school graduation from an accredited college or university
A minimum of two years of general maintenance and/or construction experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with HVAC equipment and refrigeration systems
Must be familiar with a digital Work Order system with date input to track labor and material

SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases

ABILITIES
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to safety and effectively use power tools
Must be able to read and interpret drawings and system schematics

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days/M-F
Pay Grade:7
Salary Minimum: $15.00/hourly
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
