Job Summary
Oversees, manages, and coordinates the communications functions in faculty affairs and all programming related to faculty and administrator professional development. To this end the Coordinator serves as a liaison between Faculty Affairs and key stakeholders within Augusta University: AU Faculty, Human Resources, Special Events and Protocol, Instruction and Innovation, Research, College Deans, Department Chairs, and Communications and Marketing.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:

Event Oversight:
Provides high-level operational oversight for all Faculty Affairs and University Senate events. In concert with Associate Provost, plans and assesses Faculty Affairs programming and events. Manages all logistical components of official university events sponsored by Faculty Affairs. May be called upon by the Office of the Provost for assistance with logistical planning for Provost events.

Faculty & Administrator Development:
Manages faculty and administrator development program of the Office of Faculty Affairs. Provides oversight and guidance to the Faculty Development Advisory and Faculty Mentoring Councils; Responsible for the planning, scheduling, registration, program delivery and assessment for new faculty orientation, professional development programs and events. Supports faculty mentoring initiatives and serves as liaison with campus partners in mentoring and professional development.

Communications and Promotions:
Manages, coordinates, schedules, and monitors mass communications from Faculty Affairs. Maintains the Faculty Affairs web site; monitors and manages all intranet resources for faculty; In partnership with Communications and Marketing, is responsible for development and delivery of the unit's monthly newsletter/communique production.

Faculty Recruitment, Hiring, Onboarding & Retention:
Oversees and executes operations for faculty recruitment and hiring initiatives as directed by the Associate Provost; responsible for management oversight of the underrepresented faculty recruitment and retention initiative, responsible for communications to new faculty as they come onboard and initiates faculty onboarding upon hire. Serves as liaison between Faculty Affairs and all colleges and schools, Institutional Research, Human Resources, and other academic support units in the faculty recruitment and hiring process.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years experience in higher education
OR
Master's degree from accredited college or university and two years experience in higher education

Other Required Qualifications
Demonstrated and successful work experience in one or more of the responsibility areas identified above

Preferred Qualifications
  • At least two years professional experience in developing and delivering professional development programming, preferably for faculty in higher education
  • Knowledge of faculty recruitment processes
  • Basic knowledge of marketing, communication, and marketing best practices
  • Knowledge of Web development and maintenance
  • At least two years professional experience in event management
  • Demonstrated quality and experience in customer service

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Ability to act independently as well as be a team player.
  • Ability to coordinate, oversee, and manage multiple administrative functions within a multi-person office.
  • Ability to supervise student workers.
  • Ability to manage budgets and business processes.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, recommend, and implement policy and procedural guidelines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in the use multiple software programs (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Banner, Box PowerPoint).
  • Excellent interpersonal and professionalism skills and the ability to exercise judgment, tact, and discretion in dealing with a wide variety of senior administrators, faculty, staff, and members of the community.
  • Considerable knowledge of business English, good writing skills, and the ability to communicate effectively using both written and verbal skills.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and adjust workload to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Be able to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, faculty and staff.
  • Fundamental knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures related to Faculty Affairs.
  • Extensive wor1cing knowledge of the organizational structure of Augusta University and the roles and responsibilities associated with the various units and administrators.
  • Experience with and ability to work in a matrix organizational structure.

    Shift/Salary/Benefits:

    Shift: Days/M-F (work outside of the normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position)
    Pay Grade: 15
    Salary Minimum: $38,913.00/Annually - $52,533.00
    Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
