College/Department Information
The Division of Institutional Effectiveness (IE) provides support and leadership through planning, assessment, data analysis & reporting, performance monitoring & improvement, and project management. The practical and collaborative services drive overall organizational improvements in quality, responsiveness, and efficiency for internal and external stakeholders.

Job Summary
In collaboration and consultation with the IE team, campus units, and university stakeholders, the Institutional Research Analyst serves as the primary contact for institutional data analysis and research projects to support activities that promote planning, continuous improvement and organizational effectiveness. The Institutional Research Analyst initiates, oversees, and conducts data analyses important to the university and communicates the results of these assessments to highlight conclusions. Findings are communicated in a variety of ways to support the effective use of results in planning and decision-making; through personal meetings with the sponsors, in dashboards, and in written reports including high level executive summaries.

Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:

Student Success Information and Analysis
Develops decision support and automated reporting solutions to support the academic mission of the university as it relates to student success:
1. Develops and updates standardized information resources such as reports, website updates, dashboards, etc. on a regular schedule.
2. Responds to ad hoc information requests.
3. Incorporates external information resources for comparisons and benchmarking.
4. Collaborates with IT to improve and expand data available to business intelligence solutions through data warehousing.
5. Interacts with data stewards and customers to design information resources to meet their needs.
6. Supports various Bl and query tools for accessing information resources.
7. Summarizes and communicates results effectively in a variety of formats including executive summaries, reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.

Planning and Assessment Analytical Support
Provides analytical support for a set of standardized, scheduled reports and assessments related to student performance and academic planning initiatives including but not limited to:
1. Complete College Georgia
2. Student Achievement reporting
3. Consortium for Student Retention Data Exchange
4. Student Achievement Measure Initiative
5. Annual Benchmarking Analysis

Maintains awareness of current data sources and technical in
Maintains awareness of current data sources and technical innovations within the data analysis and business intelligence fields focused on higher education:
1. Maintains membership to the Association of Institutional Research
2. Attends Regional & National Conferences & Meetings
3. Assists in improving reporting and analytical tools and techniques in the fields of Institutional Research and Business Intelligence & Analytics

Other Duties
All other related duties/tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related field of study/work and eight years of experience managing analytical projects or related experience OR Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field of study/work and a minimum of five years of experience managing analytical and business intelligence projects or related activities.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a higher education. Advanced analytics experience using predictive modeling and sentiment analysis. Experience in working with statistical and survey software.
Project management experience.

Ability to lead and lead others; Sound judgement and a mature, thoughtful approach to problem solving; Ability to work effectively with others, and earn respect of leadership and administrators. Proven ability to develop an effective, collaborative working relationship with a variety of representative groups with potentially dissimilar priorities.

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of best practices, history and coming trends within the discipline of data analysis and business intelligence.

SKILLS
Strong written and verbal communication skills including group presentation skills; Analytical skills and knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research design and measurement; Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop effective working relationships with senior leadership, faculty, and staff; Good time management and an ability to work on and prioritize multiple projects and initiatives; Strong on-line researching skills.

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days/M-F (work outside of the normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position)

Pay Grade: 19

Salary: Minimum $51,967.00/Annually - $65,600.00/Annually

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
