Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:
The New to Public Health Residency Program Coordinator will work with the New to Public Health (N2PH) Residency Program Manager and other team members to plan, implement, evaluate, revise as needed, and communicate about the N2PH Residency Program. The N2PH Residency Program is an online transition-to-practice program for new to public health practice professionals. The goal of N2PH is to improve the capacity of the public health workforce to address critical community health problems in Wisconsin and beyond. In addition to contributing to design and content of the program, the Program Coordinator will actively facilitate and support residents' and mentors' participation in the 12-month residency program and conduct ongoing assessment of residents' learning and competency development.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages a single project from start to finish or one phase of a large project under limited supervision.
25% Creates a project plan, monitors progress and performance against the project plan, and identifies, resolves, or escalates risks and issues
5% Manages the activities of outside contractors to ensure they are integrated into the project and that the organization receives satisfactory standards of service
10% Facilitates the estimation of project costs, resources, and time required to complete the assigned phase of a project and monitors activities, negotiates for resources, and assigns tasks to ensure these targets are met. Follows established change control processes if targets can no longer be met
10% Prepares regular reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team
30% Sets priorities, allocates tasks, and collaborates with project staff to meet project targets and milestones
10% Promote the N2PH Residency Program through written publication and presentations at conferences in collaboration with the N2PH Residency Program team
10% Conduct literature and website reviews to regularly identify and update best practices and alternative approaches to providing and evaluating professional development programs
TASKS:
Implement the New to Public Health (N2PH) Residency Program in collaboration with the project team.
Facilitate participant engagement including participant recruitment, admissions and enrollment processes, and orientation to the program, in collaboration with project team.
Schedule monthly synchronous webinars, co-facilitate the webinars, and evaluate webinar results in collaboration with project team
Develop new and revise content for the N2PH Residency course and program website as needed using well-regarded sources.
Identify and coordinate with content experts, facilitate obtaining their content contributions while assuring proper citation and attribution of authorship.
Collaborate with NPD/ICEP staff to assure program content meets continuing education accreditation standards.
Facilitate beta-testing of course sessions as needed to include identifying beta-testers and documenting their work.
Assist with manuscript, conference presentation, and other dissemination activities in collaboration with project team.
Collaborate with project team on planning and conducting program evaluation.
Provide primary support for N2PH participants while doing their evidence-based practice projects.
Seek and maintain partnerships with public health organizations and assist in planning for program sustainability.
Recruit, train, and support public health professional mentors associated with the N2PH Residency Program.
Assist in tracking grant reporting requirements and preparing grant reports in collaboration with program manager and grant Principal Investigators (if any).
Assist the program manager as directed.
Regularly report on work activities and contribute to the annual report of N2PH program activities.

EDUCATION:
Required
Graduate degree in nursing or public health, expertise in nursing or or public health education

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in one or more local or state level public health settings
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in nursing or public health education

The successful candidate will meet qualifications, possess skills in developing and conducting public health professional education programs, communicate well (orally and in writing), have organizational and analytical skills, and a strong appreciation for nurse residency program, public health practice and program evaluation.
