Summary

The Section of Immunology, Allergy & Rheumatology is seeking a research technician that will be tasked to perform the routine elements of research work that requires the use of skills, technical and academic knowledge to follow established procedures and record results. This position is available in Dr. David Corry's laboratory at Baylor College of Medicine in the Department of Medicine, Section of Immunology, Allergy & Rheumatology.  

Job Duties

  • Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments.
  • Collects, compiles and analyzes data.
  • Conducts literature searches and summarizes information in an appropriate format for a particular study.
  • Documents results of experiments and meets regularly with lab principal investigator.
  • Selects, evaluates and applies techniques used in routine research.
  • Orders laboratory supplies and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Has strong interpersonal skills
  • Has strong work ethics, principles in the understanding of expectations, self-motivation and diligence in providing results. 
  • Reliable and responsible to understand the role. Thinks outside the Box, team player and coordinates well with guidance from the research lab members and principal investigator.
