The School of Design is seeking to appoint an Associate Professor for a design/creative driven role with proven abilities to deliver world class teaching and research on the relationship between Creative Fashion Design and Digital Fashion Innovation. The successful candidate will be expected to provide leadership across the range of the School’s activities, enhance the School’s research and teaching activities, and work with colleagues to build on the School’s reputation for excellence in Fashion Design & Digital Fashion Innovation. 

You will have knowledge of how to develop innovative practice and research utilising a range of digital media, software and techniques, and experience of how fashion design and digital fashion innovation solutions can be applied to both commercial and non-commercial settings. You will have insight into the major external drivers of fashion design futures; sustainability, inclusivity as well as the impact of the metaverse and gaming. In addition, you will have links with the global creative and digital industry and be able to develop a strong network of engagement with the fashion design and digital fashion design sectors.

You will have a PhD in Fashion Design & Digital Fashion Innovation, or related area, have an established record of research publications commensurate with the level of the post, and a proven strategy for securing research funding and achieving internationally recognised standards of excellence. This appointment represents a major investment in the School’s commitment to the evolution and influence of fashion design and digital fashion innovation across all reseach and learning and teaching activities, and one offering considerable potential for personal career development and fulfilment.
