Responsibilities

Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment Management, this key leadership position within the Division of Enrollment Management will lead and manage the office of graduate and international admissions. The executive director will lead a well-planned and analytically supported graduate enrollment strategic initiatives with the goal of building the SMC brand as well as growing enrollments and creating a strong and sustainable enrollment future. The executive director will develop and successfully execute a strategic graduate enrollment management plan for the School of Economics, Business and Administration (SEBA) that will support the enrollment goals set forth for the school. The incumbent will be responsible for creating and executing a strategic international graduate and undergraduate recruitment plan for all four schools at Saint Mary's.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide day-to-day oversight, hire and train assistant directors, admissions recruiters and graduate assistants, establishing priorities.

Manage the graduate and international admissions budget including planning and administration.

Own established targets and develops and implements a comprehensive enrollment plan needed to achieve graduate and international enrollment and diversity goals for SEBA and international goals for all schools.

Develop relationships and communication with SEBA graduate program coordinators and department chairs in the academic departments; work closely with the chairs to drive domestic and international enrollment goals for each program; serve as the point person to liaise with departments within the academic units within the schools as it relates to graduate admissions and international recruitment.

Collaborate with the Executive Director of Marketing and the SEBA Director of Marketing in putting together a SEBA marketing plan for lead generation and event marketing; working closely with Marcomm to monitor and provide feedback on lead quality, ROI etc.

Serve as the lead in effective coordination and execution of all internal and external events such as open houses, graduate fairs, other recruiting events. Participate in recruitment fairs (domestic/international) attracting talented students to SMC.

Create an execute an international recruitment plan for graduate students, collaborate with the deans and their offices in creating admissions processes to ensure a smooth process for international students

Create and execute a recruitment plan for international undergraduate first year and transfer students; collaborate with the Undergraduate admissions dean and associate dean on these efforts

In coordination with program coordinators, create an international prospective student multi-channel communication plan and successfully execute it.

Work closely with international recruiting agents ensuring quality of applicants, engaging agent counselors; ensuring all internal set standards for agents are met, ensuring prompt payment as needed

Work with Marcomm, the operations team and schools to ensure all marketing collateral/websites are current and relevant

Work with the operations team to maintain reports for recruiting initiatives that include tracking ROI, develop and monitor statistical reports to enhance recruitment strategies, yield management, forecasting, and increase operational efficiency

In collaboration with the VPEM explore new recruitment opportunities in existing and new markets that includes establishing university partnerships (MoU's) - within the US and abroad, government/agencies and nurturing these relationships to yield quality students to SMC.

Liaise with the alumni office to leverage alumni for networking and recruiting events

Effectively use data to assess strategy and priorities

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Experience and Qualifications

Requirements: Master's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in admissions (preferably graduate) that includes at least 3 years of experience in successfully managing a team of admissions professionals - nurturing, motivating and leading them.

Demonstrated successful experience in developing, evaluating, and improving recruitment, enrollment, and marketing strategies from a data-driven perspective, including the use of integrated marketing campaigns and social media to improve the recruitment and enrollment of domestic and international students.

Proven success launching successful recruitment campaigns from concept to deployment to results within a given budget. Experience working in domestic and international markets and has a record of success in meeting domestic and international enrollment goals. Willingness to work non-traditional hours, including early morning, evening and weekends during peak times is necessary and expected. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the year. This position requires a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.

Ability to demonstrate cultural sensitivity and diplomacy. A motivated and enthusiastic work style. Stellar managerial and leadership skills. Candidates must demonstrate strong organizational skills; the ability to professionally interact and communicate with internal and external constituents, multitask, attention to detail and work to aggressive deadlines is of great importance. Excellent project and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with leadership, faculty and staff.

Highly skilled in the use of MS Office Suite, CRM (preferably Slate), Student Information systems are required.

The ability to professionally represent the University is of great importance.
