£43,414 - £51,805 p.a. (depending on experience)

The Conference and Events function plays a significant role in supporting the University’s strategic vision and world-class aspiration through its reputation for the successful delivery and professionalism of conferences, events and other services. The team’s income is set to grow significantly from £2million to as much as £4million following industry recovery from the pandemic and investment in facilities both on and off campus, including a new city centre venue set to launch in spring 2023. 

To deliver on these targets and to realise our ambition to become the academic venue event experience for organisers and delegates, we seek to appoint a senior-level individual to work closely with the Head of Conference and Events to develop and implement the event operations strategy, whilst leading, managing and motivating the event operations team. 

To be successful in this role, you will have significant experience in managing staff as well as experience working as part of a management team.   You will also have significant experience in managing successful large conferences and events from start to finish, providing advice on best practice.  You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to work collaboratively with others and build effective working relationships (including the University’s Catering & Hospitality and Residential services).
