Summary

The Global Health Administrator serves as the administrative leader and senior management advisor to the Vice President of Global Health. The primary responsibilities of this position are to generate, manage, and interpret strategic information; provide financial management and accountability for all unit resources; and to provide administrative infrastructure for faculty, staff, and trainees. These responsibilities cover each of the unit’s primary missions of patient care, education, and research.

 

The Administrator is responsible for all administrative operations of the unit including finance, research administration, and human resources. This role is dynamic, providing administrative leadership in multiple BCM entities beyond the unit, including the College, and affiliated organizations. In addition, this leadership role helps to maintain BCM’s values by creating a culture of professionalism; an effective learning environment for all; and a commitment to diversity and inclusion. The Administrator reports to the Vice President of Global Health and Chief Operating Officer of the College.  This position is eligible for an annual performance-based bonus.

 

This position may be eligible to work in a hybrid work arrangement.  This position may have the opportunity for international travel.

Job Duties

Administrative leader and senior management advisor to VP.  Generate, manage, and interpret strategic information; provide financial management/accountability for all resources; provide administrative infrastructure.

  • Direct business/programmatic/policy development/operational planning.
  • Ensure administrative services are compliant with applicable policies/procedures.
  • Provide administrative direction/coordination of daily functions.
  • Develop/implement process improvements.
  • Lead project management functions.
  • Lead communication plans to ensure effective project/process improvement implementation.
  • Develop/direct business plans.
  • Prepare business analyses/funding plans/development proposals.
  • Implement plans for new programs.
  • Design/execute changes to existing programs.
  • Provide counsel to leaders on personnel decisions.
  • Recruit/interview/select/train/evaluate staff performance.
  • Ensure record confidentiality.
  • Support employees to resolve issues.
  • Represent unit in dispute resolution.
  • Provide planning/budgeting/accounting functions/appropriate stewardship.
  • Review financial reports; initiate corrective action.
  • Prepare annual space/capital reporting.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to manage capital equipment/assets.
  • Obtain/allocate resources to ensure that equipment/space is appropriate as needs change.
     

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Five years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Healthcare or Business Administration
  • Experience in non-profit management, global project management
