Job Description

Summary

The position is for an undergraduate student, working a minimum of 9 hours per week, for at least one semester. There is a possibility to work for an additional semester and during the summer. Goal of this training opportunity is for the student to engage in interdisciplinarity research in the context of the Future Integrative Scholars in Training (FIST) program of the behavioral plasticity research institute (BPRI). The subject of study will be how grasshoppers transform into locusts, an extreme example of phenotypic plasticity.

Job Duties

  • Carries out surveys and interviews as required by the FIST program for program assessment.
  • Writes weekly reports and reports hours of completed work.
  • Submits a training report following a provided template at the end of the training opportunity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a High School or College Student (undergraduate or graduate).
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one year of college course credits in a field related to Neuroscience.
  • Ability to program and willingness to learn additional programming and data analysis methods.
  • Flexibility in working hours.
