Job Description

Summary

Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a Coordinator to join our Teen Health Clinic.  The ideal candidate will  work in one of eight clinic locations.  Each clinic is typically staffed with a Patient Support Services Coordinator, Medical Assistant, Nurse (RN or LVN) and a Nurse Practitioner.  The coordinator will schedule and coordinate patient appointments and visits, including telemedicine. The coordinator will also prepare and maintain daily appointment schedules, collects necessary patient information, completes documentation and applications of eligibility.  

Job Duties

  • Enters and maintains patient records.
  • Enters orders for patient tests and obtains proper paperwork.
  • Corresponds with patient's referring physician.
  • Reviews referral data and ensures all referral loops are being closed in an effective and timely manner.
  • Provides administrative support for physicians as needed.
  • Acts as a frontline representative. 
  • Greets and answers new patients questions.
  • Records and  maintains reports and data to support operational activities.
  • Manages multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Processes enrollment applications and performs data entry timely, accurately and in compliance with State and Federal standards and guidelines.
  • Enters additional information into other databases. 
  • Tracks patient demographic information.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Customer Service experience.
  • Proficiency in Windows and MS Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Manages multiple tasks and deadlines using organizational skills. 
  • Decision making skills.
  • Bilingual( Spanish), preferred.
