Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Biology

Desired Qualifications
Background and experience in vision research.
Skills in retina dissection, immunohistochemistry, confocal imaging, genotyping and visual behavior tests.

Position Purpose
Conduct vision research with a focus on retinal morphology and visual behaviors.
Job Duties
Maintain and clean laboratory glassware and equipment
Conduct mouse tail tipping, DNA extraction, and PCR
Perform animal euthanasia, enucleation of eyeballs, retina dissection, and fixation
Cut the retina into vertical slices with the cryostat
Perform immunohistochemistry
Image retina sample with conventional fluorescence microscopy and confocal.
Conduct an optokinetic behavior test
Supervise undergraduate and high school students and volunteers
Present data in local and national meetings
Prepare data for grant applications and publication
