Are you an academic with proven abilities to deliver teaching and research in Fashion Design & Digital Fashion Innovation? Are you passionate about providing an exceptional student experience in a research-intensive Russell Group University? Can you apply your expertise to support and complement the School’s existing strengths?

You will deliver world class teaching and research in the area of Fashion Design & Digital Fashion Innovation, supporting the continuing development of the School of Design as a sector leading centre with innovation at its core. This is a design/creative driven role, and you will have experience as a designer and research expertise in fashion design and digital fashion innovation applied across a range of sectors. You will have knowledge of how to develop innovative practice and research utilising a range of digital media, software and techniques, and experience of how fashion design and digital fashion innovation solutions can be applied to both commercial and non-commercial settings. You will have insight into the major external drivers of fashion design futures; sustainability, inclusivity as well as the impact of the metaverse and gaming. In addition, you will have links with the global creative and digital industry and be able to develop a strong network of engagement with the fashion design and digital fashion design sectors.

You will have a PhD in Fashion Design & Digital Fashion Innovation (or close to completion with the PhD thesis to be submitted by May 2023) and have a developing record of research in this area, commensurate with the level of the post and a clear indication of the ability to achieve internationally recognised standards of excellence. You will be a committed teacher and an outstanding communicator able to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate taught study in the areas of fashion design and digital fashion innovation, and creative design in general. You will also contribute to teaching and administrative activities in general
