Summary

The Patient Business Services manages the revenue cycle of Baylor College of Medicine's Clinical mission. The clinical mission has a far reach as it extends to affiliate partners with their own electronic health record systems, as well as the third-party systems and services to Baylor Medicine's EHR. This role in the PBS collaborates with the Clinical, Access, Financial, and IT groups to facilitate change. A successful candidate will understand all aspects of technical solutions, how they will improve patient satisfaction, staff workflow, and the revenue cycle in order to build, test, document, train and implement.

Job Duties

  • Have a working knowledge of the 12 steps of the revenue cycle.
  • Develop the process to implement changes as well as the management tools to ensure success of the planned projected.
  • Work to develop automation to reduce manual efforts utilizing outside vendors. 
  • Assist in planning and structuring implementation of new workflows for staff.
  • Work with the manager to understand, evaluate, recommend and integrate EPIC's new functionality into the revenue cycle.
  • Process feedback from revenue cycle management related to issues and develop either a view into the volume of the issues or a system resolution utilizing EPIC and other bolt on products.
  • Assist in the development or maintenance of our interfaces with HHS. BSLMC, Experian, Etc. 
  • Work with all aspects of the revenue cycle management to improve patient satisfaction via MyChart and on-line scheduling. 
  • Work with PBS and clinical departments to improve our processes and well as comprehending and implementing federally mandated regulatory requirements such as ABN’s, no surprise act, etc. 
  • Develop and implement technical changes to EPIC for Contracting changes.
  • Work independently to accomplish tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.  Four years of relevant experience may substitute for degree requirement. 
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years of project management experience, preferably in an academic medical organization.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, be regarded as a team player, have strong and proven organizational skills, and have a personal drive to be their best.
  • Experience working with Excel, Epic EHR, and Clarity report writing, along with a variety of other data related technologies.
