We are seeking a research technician for the laboratories of Dr. Laura Stein and Dr. Alexandra Bentz. The position will involve avian and fish husbandry, local fieldwork, data management, laboratory organization, supply inventory, and basic molecular and cellular analyses of samples.

 

Job Requirements

Required Education:  High School Diploma

Skills:

  • Knowledge of laboratory procedures
  • Knowledge of the proper handling of chemicals and biohazardous materials
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations in different units of measurement
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or other relevant programs
  • Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing

Certifications:

  •  None

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Standing for prolonged periods
  • Manual dexterity, walking, and talking
  • Ability to move or lift up to 20 pounds
  • Laboratory Environment use
  • May be exposed to biohazardous materials, blood borne pathogens, or chemicals

Departmental Preferences:

  • The technician will also collaborate with the PI and group members to contribute to and develop publications
  • Associate's degree in a Biological or Physical Science
