The Center for Institutional Data Exchange and Analysis (C-IDEA) is a department within the University of Oklahoma Outreach. Our primary responsibilities are coordinating the Consortium for Student Retention Data Exchange (CSRDE). We work with higher education professionals across the U.S. and Canada to provide resources for helping their students remain in college and graduate. The majority of our work includes publishing three national reports, hosting the annual National Symposium on Student Retention, and hosting monthly webinars. We are also the Program Evaluator for an NSF grant. The person in this position serves as the departmental director.

Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for managing all departmental activities and programs. 
  • Oversees membership activities and seeks growth opportunities for the Consortium for Student Retention Data Exchange (CSRDE), a consortium of colleges and universities.
  • Coordinates all data exchange activities for three national student retention reports for CSRDE.
  • Serves as host for the annual National Symposium on Student Retention and co-editor of the Conference Proceedings.
  • Supervises all departmental staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Creates and manages the department’s budget.
  • Hosts monthly webinars.
  • Able to communicate effectively orally and in writing,
  • Serves as Program Evaluator for the Oklahoma Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (OK-LSAMP), an NSF-funded program.
  • Heads the eight-member CSRDE Advisory Board.
  • Works closely with the Editor and Copyeditor of the book, Building Bridges for Student Success: A Sourcebook for Colleges and Universities, to publish new chapters.
 

Job Requirements

Required Education:  Bachelor's degree, AND: 

  •  48 months of program development, program management or related experience.

Equivalency/Substitution:  Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 96 months of related experience.

  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative abilities
  • Competence in presenting analysis in charts and comprehensive non-technical reports
  • Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information
  • Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives
  • Ability to expand programming and departmental resources

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Regular pressure to meet productivity standards; frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods; requires contact with other departments and university officials, may be required to lift and move items up to 25 lbs, bend, stoop, carry, engage in repetitive motion and communicate effectively.

Department Preferences:

  • Master’s or Ph.D. degree in related field
  • 60 months of relevant data management and analysis and management experience

Supervision:  Position reports to Senior Assoicate Vice President for University Outreach.
