Job Summary
Responsible for supervising instruction and teaching of undergraduate and graduate sections of semiconductor chip fabrication courses. Help maintain fabrication equipment and tools; ensure purchase of necessary supplies and chemicals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide hands-on laboratory instruction to undergraduate and graduate students for the semiconductor chip fabrication courses at the Nanotechnology Research Center (NanoFab) “Clean Room”.
In conjunction with the primary professor, responsible for lectures and developing student projects and protocols for the chip-fabrication process.
In conjunction with the primary professor and NanoFab staff, develop and deliver lab safety instruction module(s).
Select, purchase, and maintain supplies and chemicals for the chip fabrication courses.
Identify, purchase and, if necessary operate and help maintain clean room tools required for the semiconductor chip fabrication courses.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors of Science in an engineering, technology, physics, chemistry or materials discipline (or related field) or minimum of five (5) years of experience in semiconductor chip fabrication.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters of Science in an engineering, technology, physics, chemistry or materials discipline (or related field) or minimum of seven (7) years of experience in semiconductor chip fabrication.

Familiarity with operation and maintenance of a microfabrication facility.
Hands-on experience in operating and maintaining semiconductor fabrication equipment.
Familiarity with semiconductor processing equipment and processes.
Knowledge of microelectronics and MEMS fabrication processes.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local laboratory regulations.
Demonstrated personnel management ability.
Experience conducting training and process development in a technical environment.
Excellent communication skills: both oral and written;
Strong work ethic.
Knowledge of clean room equipment operation for thin-film deposition, diffusion, oxidation, lithography and etching, including wet and dry etching.
Knowledge of clean room protocols and safety.
Working Conditions
Exposure to standard semiconductor chip processing chemicals.
Exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards.
